ora vamos lá espreitar que vale a pena

Wallpaper* is once again hosting a ground-breaking exhibition to coincide with Milan's Salone del Mobile, and this year it is the Wallpaper* EcoEdit, an exhibition of the best eco innovations on the planet.

Can environmentally friendly design be good design? Or rather, can design that doesn't have environmental impact as a key concern ever be considered good design? This is the most important debate in contemporary design and Wallpaper's EcoEdit is an essential and comprehensive take on how designers are facing up to these challenges.

Wallpaper* has uncovered 101 beautiful, innovative but environmentally friendly designs - from the worlds of architecture, beauty, fashion, food, packaging, product design, transport and travel - from all over the world. This is a global concern and we have created a truly global experience.

There is a sense of purity and integrity consistent throughout our selection. Many of the creators we feature are individual pioneers or small businesses. But there are also a growing number of more powerful brands, for whom becoming green is, arguably, a more difficult proposition, that are emerging strong and steadfast in this field.

From a global fashion retailer to a manufacturer of biodegradable coconut boxes, from a high-end spa that draws luxury from its surroundings to a sustainable housing development in the Bronx: the overriding message from our EcoEdit is that creativity and conscience work exceptionally well together. Eco-chic is about indulgence and pleasure as well as getting to grips with some of the world's bigger issues. One of the most pleasing elements of researching all 101 exhibits, was seeing how the addition of eco credentials to good design resulted in concepts that worked even harder.

Eco-brilliance is flourishing. Enjoy the show.
